Culture Card Victoria is your gateway to Victoria culture’s history. As an initiative of the Victorian state government which is delivered by the Department of Business and Innovation, we provide a great way for tourists and international students to enjoy a mix of special offers to Victoria’s top tourist attractions and cultural events.

We aim to enrich their connection and cultural experiences. Through Culture Card, you can access many of the great activities and events on offer in Victoria.

Through our platform, you can explore the collection, organisation, and stories that make Victoria rich cultural life. Through the platform, you can get access to images, videos, and stories that show Victoria’s beauty and the diversity of cultures available here. With many people contributing to the platform and sharing their stories, there is no limit on the experiences you can share when you use the platform.

It is not only stories that this platform offers, but also you get access to a collection search that covers all the major cultural agencies in Victoria as well as more than three hundred professional and community collections.

At Culture Card Victoria, we serve as the avenue for locals and tourists to know about the cultural organisations and collections in Victoria. We provide;

  • Access videos and images available online as part of our Stories section showcasing the diversity and richness Victoria and gathered from several contributors.
  • Access to a Collection search that covers the major cultural agencies in Victoria as well as more than 300 community and professional collections
  • Access to Organisations directory that includes more than 700 places where you can get publicly accessible collections. This includes libraries, galleries, archives, historical societies, and museums.
  • Access to Education resources that related to the stories on the platform
  • Access to an innovative and integrated Mapping tool for exploring our stories through both Aboriginal language groups and places.
  • Access to New ways of discovering stories through the Historical Themes of Heritage Council of Victoria.

 

Culture Card Victoria represents the Victorian Cultural Network, a collaborative project that seeks to increase digital access to the cultural assets of the state for community and educational users. The content on the platform is Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums (GLAM) sector collaboration and we broker relationships between organisations and artists.

The content available on the platform is very comprehensive and gives any user the chance to know and better understand the cultural heritage of Victoria. For locals, this gives them the opportunity to take pride in their community while tourists and visitors get to appreciate the culture of Victoria.
